“Too Hot! is a discomfitingly relevant topic and the artworks submitted pointedly reflect the turbulence and anxiety of our times. The works in Too Hot! don’t give the viewer much space to breathe, and perhaps we need that feeling of urgency. Pieces in a range of media reference topics such as war, violence, identity politics, reproductive rights, climate change, and how the constant barrage of news about these hot button topics batters our collective psyches. These are sobering topics interpreted in many different ways; I appreciate both the subtlety and blatancy that will burn brightly in Kingston Gallery this summer.” –Jessica Roscio
Creative Advocacy Institute /
I had an amazing time at MASSCreative’s inaugural Creative Advocacy Institute in my fave little city, Lowell.
It was so inspiring to be around so many fierce advocates and changemakers. Culminating with an incredible closing with speaker Quanice G. Floyd - who told us in no uncertain terms to “go fuck shit up” and shared her philosophy and love of finding loopholes and refusing to take no for an answer.
I fucking love it.
I get asked a lot “when are you going to move to LA or NYC?” and this is the reason the answer is never. The people in MA are working hard to advocate for the arts and I’m thrilled to be a part of that movement.

Massachusetts Independent Film Festival /
Massachusetts Independent Film Festival has such a special place in my heart! I am honored to take home the Spirit Award this year for my short screenplay Fell Right Next to the Tree - a story about generational trauma and facing deep fears.
There is so much talk about technique in the film world that sometimes I forget it’s an art - and I love how this award highlights that part of the indie film community.
The Shawna Shea Film Festival awarded Trauma Bond - Short Film the Shawna Spirit Award recently too.
Congrats to all my fellow filmmakers out there! Keeping the creative, explorative spirit of film alive! You inspire me to keep the faith and do the same.

Wonderful to be part of this group show by Juniper Rag.
"Let’s reinvent “pop culture”. Our culture in 2024 is evolving exponentially and art-making is moving in new directions, continuing to bridge a gap between contemporary art and the future of art. With this exhibition we continue our contribution to the discourse surrounding art and the future, exploring the intersection of contemporary art practices with modern culture."

New Cover Feature /
”This wonderful cover art is called “In Built Space 1” by Jaina Cipriano. Jaina Cipriano is an experiential designer and filmmaker exploring the emotional toll of religious and romantic entrapment. Her worlds communicate with our neglected inner child and are informed by explosive colors, elements of elevated play and the push/pull of light and dark. Find more of Jaina’s work @jainastudio on Instagram.”

Screenplays! /
Two short screenplays I wrote were accepted to Massachusetts Independent Film Festival - which is exciting because I’ve never submitted my writing anywhere!
Actualization is a short film about healing from narcissistic abuse. I wrote the first draft by hand, in one go, sitting next to the ocean this summer. It’s a strange journey through a memory world where everyone tells the truth. I’m excited about bringing it to the world.
Fell Right Next to the Tree is a 5 page micro short about inherited trauma and my fear of vomiting.
Another Selection for Rattle! /
